KOMTEST / Common Rail pump testing
Common Rail pump test benches and connection packages
Common Rail pump testing needs a drive, mounting arrangement, fluid connections and electronic control matched to the pump. Choose the dedicated CR PUMP 2700 for pump work or compare CRI PUMP 2200 and CRI PUMP 2400 when injector testing is also required on the same machine.
Dedicated pump bench or combined injector-pump bench?
CR PUMP 2700 focuses on pumps. CRI PUMP 2200 adds a single injector channel; CRI PUMP 2400 adds a four-injector arrangement. Review operator workload, mounting changes and the component-specific package together.
| Model | Main task | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| CR PUMP 2700 | Common Rail pumps | Dedicated pump work: transfer, pressure, Emprobe, start and performance tests. |
| CRI PUMP 2200 | Common Rail injector + pump | A single injector channel plus pump control when both types of work are needed. |
| CRI PUMP 2400 | Common Rail injectors + pumps | Four-injector testing with integrated pump control for a mixed Common Rail workload. |
01
Review the pump test sequence
CR PUMP 2700's published test functions include transfer, pressure, Emprobe, start and performance tests. Its specification includes speed-controlled drive, temperature management and EMPROP/DRV control. Select the actual sequence and settings from the applicable pump test plan.
A pump can require more than a pressure check. A useful demonstration identifies the pump, documents the connections, runs the required control and delivery checks and explains the reported result. Keep the pump's reference and configuration with the test record.
02
Separate mounting, electronic control and lubrication
The standard connection set includes documented flanges, drive couplings, fluid connections, hoses, electrical cables and mounting hardware. The package library lists the oil-required pump connection group separately from optional application kits.
Optional application groups include Bosch CP4 E, CP5 and CB families, selected Denso HP families, Delphi DFP5–8 and other documented pump connections. The presence of a connection kit is not a promise that every revision within a pump family has the same test plan.
- Provide the pump's full manufacturer reference and application.
- Confirm the flange, drive coupling, rotation and speed-signal connection.
- Identify the required metering or pressure-control valve connection.
- Check whether the pump requires the separate lubrication connection group and confirm what the quotation includes.
03
Keep Common Rail and mechanical pump jobs distinct
A Common Rail pump bench is selected for the pump's hydraulic and electronic control workflow. Mechanical injection-pump calibration uses a different setup, covered by the 969 PT guide. List both workloads separately if your workshop services both systems.
For a mixed injector-and-pump workshop, compare whether one combined bench suits your scheduling or whether a dedicated pump station is more practical. Request the machine, standard connections, selected options, installation and training as a defined configuration.

Which KOMTEST machine is dedicated to Common Rail pumps?
CR PUMP 2700 is the dedicated Common Rail pump test bench. CRI PUMP 2200 and CRI PUMP 2400 combine pump control with injector testing. Match the pump references and required connections to the selected package.
Are pump adapters and lubrication connections included?
The package library distinguishes standard connections, the separate lubrication group and optional pump application kits. Review the actual quotation for the required flange, coupling, fittings, cables and oil connections; do not assume all optional kits are included.
Can a Common Rail pump bench calibrate every mechanical diesel pump?
Common Rail pump testing and mechanical pump calibration are different workflows. For mechanical pumps, review the 969 PT platform and its mounting, drive and measurement arrangements. Confirm the exact pump and procedure before selecting equipment.
